Between finding the world’s largest 7Eleven store and trying street food in Thailand, the stars of the channel On Tour With Dridgers answered a few questions about how they came to spend their lives travelling in some of the world’s most incredible places and making us all very jealous.
It all started back in 2020, during lockdown in the UK. Reanne and Ben found themselves watching a lot of travel creator videos on YouTube. One day, they made the decision to sell everything they owned and hit the road. Camera in hand, they headed off and have never looked back. It all started in Scotland; since then they’ve visited 38 countries and they’re still going. The system is simple, often flights are booked a little while in advance for the next few countries, the routes planned around the places and sites they want to see. The first day in a new place includes a coffee shop and a whole lot of planning.
The obvious question to ask such prolific travellers is what is your favourite place you’ve been to. But I felt like it was too much of a cliche so I went instead with ‘what has been your favourite moment since you’ve started travelling?’ It was a moment of stunning originality from me. The highlights included all the different foods around the world, especially in Asia. But hiking up the active volcanoes in both Guatemala and Indonesia were ones ‘that will stay with us forever’.
Of course, there are significant challenges that come with this lifestyle. The reason we enjoy travelling is to figure things out as we go along and to overcome obstacles. ‘I think for us with travel content, it means being away from home a lot. We’ve missed our families a lot. The stuff you think might be difficult is easy though. We get on so well and spend 24 hours a day together. We argue a little like all couples do but we both make sure it’s forgotten about in 10 minutes time.’
Amongst all the travelling and good times, they’ve managed to build an audience of over 17.5k subscribers who tune in to watch their 3 videos a week, every week- that’s a lot of content! One of the best ways to make sure you stick to your content calendar is to plan well in advance, which is what they’ve done. The vlog is planned out about 5 weeks in advance. At the time of this interview they were leaving Indonesia and heading off to Hong Kong! You can check out their latest updates on their channel.
And of course, we talked about SyncVault! Getting to know the artist and helping their career by getting their music out there is a huge benefit to The Dridgers. We’re happy to help and be a part of your wonderful adventures!
